The eleven Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) in the Butte Subbasin cooperatively developed a single Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) and successfully submitted to DWR January 2022. The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), passed in the fall of 2014, establishes a new structure for managing groundwater resources in California. Development of the Butte Subbasin GSP was funded by a DWR Proposition 1 GSP Planning Grant.
Final GSP is available on the SGMA Portal.
The compiled adoption documents are available here or through individual GSAs.
The main components and steps for GSP development are described here: https://groundwaterexchange.org/developing-a-groundwater-sustainability-plan/
